Mitch and Abbi wanted a late summer wedding because they love the warm beautiful light filled summer days here in Minnesota. The Chaska Event Center was the ideal venue for their wedding reception because it was simple, full of light, and had a great combination of indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing their guests to take full advantage of the beautiful summer day. Mitch and Abbi really enjoy summer and being outside. Mitch is an avid fisherman, hunter, and ball player and Abbi enjoys gardening and walking their dogs outside so it felt right to celebrate in a place that really focused on the outdoors. They also used a lot of greenery in our arrangements and decor to tying in the outdoors.
They wanted the wedding to feel timeless and romantic but also casual with simple decor because they are both fairly laid back. They also wanted their personalities to come out (hence the donuts for dessert). Their number one priority was for their wedding guests to really enjoy themselves. Obviously, your wedding day is supposed to be about you and your spouse, but they wanted to acknowledge that they wouldn’t have gotten to the wedding day without the love and support of their guests. They wanted to serve lots of tasty food and beverages, hire an awesome DJ, and ditch wedding traditions that get old (like the bouquet toss, garter toss, and dollar dance). They also combined the father-daughter and mother-son dance to cut down of the watching and increase the fun-having.
Their wedding day was so perfectly them and was full of so much joy and love from all of their friends and family. Here are some of my favorites from their day!
